His early Sojourn
of Life : Shri R. D. Jain saw light in city of Gwalior on 3rd Feb. 1934 in a Jewellers family. His father late Shri Dhannalalji Jain and his mother late Smt. Ramswaropi Devi Jain both were deeply religious professing faith in Jainism. Fervour, morality and aroma of humanity from his parents. His wife Smt. Asha Devi Jain is a pious lady. He has one daughter and two sons. His sons Shri Sameer Jain and Shri Sangam Jain both are eminent lawyers and are treading successfully the path traversed by their father in the legal profession. Shri Jain had his schooling in Gwalior. After graduation in Arts he completed LL.B. in 1966 and was enrolled an advocate in 1967. Shri Jain as an
Advocate : While practicing as an advocate in the district court as well as in the Gwalior bench of the M.P.High Court Shri Jain also obtained LL.M. degree in the year 1968 from the Jiwaji University, Gwalior. He started his career by joining government service in Madhya Pradesh but his passion to do some thing for the society forced him to leave Government job and usher in the filed of legal practice. He started legal practice independently from the beginning. He was, during practice, engaged on retainer basis by various Institutions, companies, corporations, business Houses, notable amongst them are (1) Dena Bank, Lashkar, Gwalior (2) Central Cooperative Bank, Lashkar, Gwalior (3) Central Cooperative Bank, Morena (4) Municipal Council, Dabra (5) Municipal Council, Guna (6) United Commercial Bank (7) M.P. Cooperative Marketing Federation, Bhopal (8) M.P. Dugdh Sangh Maryadit, Gwalior (9) State Bank of Indore, Gwalior (10) Income Tax Department, Gwalior (11) Jawahar Lal Nehru Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur (12) Oriental Bank of Commerce, (13) Madhya Pradesh Public Service Commission etc. He was elected President of M.P. High Court Bar Association Gwalior in 1996. He was designated Senior Advocate by the M.P. High Court in the year 2001. He is a fine gentleman of cool and calm temper. He prefers methodicity in his work to haste and inconsistency. He is in the habit of resolving any difficult problem from a to z. He used to prepare cases thoroughly and then argue in the courts. Creative Talent of Shri Jain : In addition to the legal practice he has strong leaning towards Hindi literature, penmanship and law journalism. He has to his credit law books written by him. Notable among his books which received great appreciation from readers include. 1. Ashshkiya Shikshan Sanstha manual in diglot and 2. Panchayat Raj Adhiniyam in English 3. Co-operative societies Act. 4. Apart from law book Shri Jain has also written a book Vichar Aur Samriddhi a purely literary creation. He is chief Editor of M.P. Judicial Reporter, a monthly law journal. Despite his busy schedule in the profession, social and literary activities Shri Jain used to steal some valuable time to prepare and edit Head Notes of cases published in MPJR. Under his valuable guidance and consistent efforts today MPJR is at its best stage in the field of law reporting. Shri Jain assumed the office of Advocate General of the State of Madhya Pradesh on 25.06.2009. ***********
